EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar Sheds Light on Katchatheevu Island Controversy

Bikaner, Rajasthan – In a recent public address, External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar brought to light the ongoing controversy surrounding the Katchatheevu island, implicating the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party in Tamil Nadu.

“We want to make the public understand what DMK is doing in Tamil Nadu,” stated Dr. Jaishankar, “We are exposing the fact that the DMK was involved in it from the start.”

According to the EAM, the DMK had been conducting negotiations behind closed doors, leading to an agreement to which the then DMK chief minister had agreed. He emphasized the need for public awareness about political parties that present one stance in Parliament but make different decisions behind closed doors.

Dr. Jaishankar also drew attention to a statement made by Pandit Nehru, who had claimed that nobody lived in Aksai Chin. He criticized this as reflective of the Congress party’s mentality about India’s land, stating, “This is their (Congress) mentality about India’s land…They don’t have any attachment to India’s land.”

The EAM’s comments have ignited a fresh wave of discussions about the Katchatheevu island controversy and the role of political parties in such disputes. As the situation unfolds, the public awaits further clarity on the matter.
