PM Modi Alleges Misuse of AI in Creation of Fake Videos at Maharashtra Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a stern address at a public rally in Satara, Maharashtra, sounded the alarm on the proliferation of fake videos circulating on social media platforms. He warned of the detrimental effects these videos could have on societal harmony and the democratic process.

Expressing deep concern, PM Modi accused these fake videos of being a deliberate attempt to create tension and disrupt the peaceful conduct of elections. He asserted that these videos, crafted using advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, impersonate the voices of key BJP and NDA leaders, including his own, BJP President J.P. Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and various Chief Ministers.

Modi condemned the perpetrators behind these videos, stating, “Those who lack the courage to face the NDA and BJP directly resort to spreading fake videos on social media.” He emphasized the gravity of the situation, highlighting that these videos contain fabricated statements attributed to leaders who have never made such remarks.

The Prime Minister cautioned against the broader agenda behind the dissemination of fake videos, suggesting that they are part of a concerted effort to disrupt the democratic fabric of the nation. He urged the public to remain vigilant and discerning, emphasizing the importance of verifying information before believing and sharing it.

Modi reassured citizens that the government is taking decisive action to combat the spread of fake news and misinformation. He called for collective efforts to counter this menace, stressing the need for greater public awareness and media literacy.

This incident underscores the urgent need for stringent measures to address the misuse of technology in spreading misinformation. It highlights the importance of fostering a culture of critical thinking and responsible digital citizenship to safeguard the integrity of democratic processes and promote informed public discourse.
