Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Honors Kargil War Heroes, Announces New Reservation Initiatives for Agniveers

On the 25th anniversary of the Kargil War, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma paid heartfelt tribute to the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Speaking at a commemoration event in Delhi, Sharma expressed profound respect for the bravehearts who fought in the Kargil conflict, emphasizing their role in defending the nation.

“I bow down in front of the Bravehearts of the Kargil war on its 25th anniversary, who sacrificed themselves for their motherland,” Sharma said, reflecting on the valor and commitment of the Indian soldiers during the conflict.

In addition to honoring the Kargil veterans, Sharma announced a significant policy initiative in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Agniveer scheme. The Rajasthan government has decided to offer reservations in various state government departments for those who have served under the Agniveer program. Specifically, Sharma outlined plans to provide reservation benefits for Agniveers in the police department, as well as roles such as prison guards and forest guards.

This move aims to acknowledge the contributions of Agniveers, providing them with opportunities for employment and integration into civilian roles after their service. The reservations are intended to facilitate smoother transitions for these individuals into government positions, reflecting the state’s commitment to supporting former and current service members.

Sharma’s announcement underscores the state’s effort to recognize and reward the sacrifices made by military personnel, enhancing their prospects in public service roles. The policy aligns with the broader national objective of integrating Agniveers into various sectors, ensuring they receive fair opportunities for career development.
