Rajasthan Deputy CM Prem Chand Bairwa Defends Waqf Amendment Bill, Criticizes Opposition for Provoking Divisiveness

Jaipur – As the Waqf Amendment Bill is set to be introduced in the Lok Sabha today, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa came out in strong defense of the legislation, emphasizing that it is designed to benefit all communities and is not aimed at any particular group. Bairwa also accused opposition parties of attempting to provoke people without any basis.

“This bill is not against anyone but in the interest of all,” Bairwa said, underlining that the Waqf Amendment Bill seeks to address long-standing issues with the management and utilization of Waqf properties for the welfare of society as a whole. He reiterated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is working for the good of all citizens, irrespective of their religion. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi works in the interest of the entire society and all religions,” he added.

Bairwa directed his criticism towards opposition parties, accusing them of fueling unnecessary controversy. “It is the opposition which works to provoke people without any basis,” he said, implying that the objections raised by opposition leaders were politically motivated and lacked substantial ground.

The Deputy CM’s remarks reflect the government’s stance that the Waqf Amendment Bill is a positive reform aimed at improving the system for the benefit of the broader society, and that any opposition to the bill is rooted in divisive politics rather than genuine concern.
