Jaipur, Rajasthan: Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel on Tuesday confirmed the deportation of 148 suspected Bangladeshi nationals from Jodhpur to Kolkata, marking a significant step in the state’s efforts to address the issue of illegal immigration. From Kolkata, the individuals will be sent back to Bangladesh.
Minister Patel stated that around 1,000 suspected Bangladeshi nationals have been identified living illegally in various parts of Rajasthan. He emphasized that the state government is actively working to detect and deport such individuals. “All suspected Bangladeshi nationals or nationals of any other country found living here illegally will be sent back to their respective countries,” he said.
This move aligns with the broader national policy of tightening immigration controls and ensuring that foreign nationals residing in the country do so with valid documentation. Authorities are continuing their verification process and have indicated that more deportations will follow in the coming days.
The development comes amid heightened security concerns and increased scrutiny of undocumented migrants across the country.
