Jaipur: Responding to comments made by former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, state minister Suresh Singh Rawat on Monday launched a sharp counterattack, accusing Gehlot of creating confusion and instability during his time in office.
“During his tenure as CM, he presented a ‘Bhram Shastra’ to the people, because he used to stay in hotels, Manesar, and people only used to wonder who would become the CM,” Rawat remarked, referring to the political uncertainty and factional battles that marked the previous Congress government.
Contrasting the current administration with Gehlot’s tenure, Rawat praised Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for pushing long-delayed development work to the ground level. “I only say that our CM Bhajanlal Sharma implemented the irrigation programs at the grassroots level in the state, which had been delayed for years,” he said.
Rawat’s remarks come amid an ongoing war of words between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress over governance, developmental work, and political leadership in Rajasthan.
