Rajasthan Leveraging Its Tourism Strength, Says Deputy CM Diya Kumari

Jaipur: Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on Thursday highlighted the state government’s active efforts to boost tourism and unlock the sector’s vast potential. Speaking to reporters, she said Rajasthan continues to remain one of India’s most attractive destinations, and the government is working with renewed focus to strengthen its position both domestically and globally.

“Rajasthan has immense potential for tourism. Our tourism department is working at full capacity,” Diya Kumari said, stressing that the state’s cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and architectural marvels give it a unique advantage. She noted that the government is adopting a multi-pronged strategy to enhance connectivity, improve infrastructure, and promote diverse tourism offerings.

Referring to recent initiatives, she said the Pravasi Rajasthan Pre-Summit was organised to engage stakeholders and gather feedback. “Discussions were held with the tourism department, and we received many suggestions. Many investors also came. There were very good discussions,” she said, adding that the summit played a key role in understanding industry expectations and identifying areas for future collaboration.

Diya Kumari emphasised that the government is also working to bring lesser-known destinations into the tourism map. “We are working on how to connect lesser-known destinations with tourism as well,” she said, highlighting the administration’s intent to diversify tourist circuits beyond traditional hotspots like Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer.

She said these efforts aim to create new economic opportunities, generate employment, and ensure that the benefits of tourism development reach remote and rural regions of the state. With Rajasthan witnessing rising visitor interest both from India and abroad, Diya Kumari said the government is committed to making the state a model of sustainable and inclusive tourism development.
