The Central Government has given a green signal to three new railway line projects of Rajasthan, which will boost the state’s connectivity, tourism and economic development. The projects are Jaipur-Sawaimadhopur, Ajmer-Chanderia and Luni-Samdari-Bhiladi, for which the budget has been approved by the Railway Board.
According to a press release issued by the North Western Railway (NWR), an amount of Rs 1268.57 crore has been approved for the doubling of 31.27 km long Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur railway line and 152.77 km track. The project will increase the speed and capacity of trains on this route, which is a part of the Golden Quadrilateral. It will also provide better connectivity to educational institutions in Ranthambore Forest Sanctuary, Chauth Ka Barwada and the religious place Vanasthali located in Shivad.
Similarly, an amount of Rs 1813.28 crore has been approved for the 178.20 km long Ajmer-Chanderia railway route and 212.8 km track. The project will enhance the connectivity of Ajmer, a major pilgrimage and tourist destination, with other parts of the country. It will also facilitate the movement of freight trains carrying cement, limestone and gypsum from the Chittorgarh region.
The third project is the Luni-Samdari-Bhiladi railway line, for which an amount of Rs 1276.64 crore has been approved. The project will cover a distance of 128.75 km and 154.4 km track. It will improve the connectivity of the western Rajasthan with the rest of the state and the country. It will also benefit the farmers, traders and industries of the region.
The NWR has expressed its gratitude to the Central Government and the Railway Board for sanctioning these projects, which will have a positive impact on the socio-economic development of Rajasthan. The NWR has assured that it will complete these projects in a time-bound manner and with high quality standards.
