Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Criticizes Mamata Banerjee’s Government Over Waqf Bill and Lawlessness in Bengal

Jodhpur, Rajasthan — Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat strongly criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s stance on the Waqf Amendment Bill, accusing her government of promoting appeasement politics at the cost of law and order in the state.

In a scathing response to Mamata Banerjee’s remarks on the bill, Shekhawat said, “The conditions being created for appeasement of votes during the tenure of Mamata Banerjee government are unfortunate and condemnable.” He further pointed out the growing unrest in the state, especially during recent events such as Ram Navami, where violence against the Hindu majority community has reportedly escalated.

“The Hindu majority has been tortured and left to burn, temples are being vandalised, and women are being molested. Despite all this, the state government remains silent just for votes. This reminds us of the times of Bengal Partition,” Shekhawat added.

He expressed confidence that the upcoming elections would bring change, stating, “But I believe the conscience created will set Bengal free of these incidents, and a BJP government will be formed in West Bengal.”

Shekhawat’s remarks have sparked a political debate as tensions continue to rise in Bengal, particularly over issues of religious tensions and political governance. The Union Minister’s comments underline the growing rift between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the BJP, with both parties vying for control in the upcoming state elections.
