The Modi government has given a big gift to the railway passengers in Rajasthan by allocating a budget for the new line and RUB to Ajmer Division under the Vote on Account for the financial year 2024-25. This will enable the strengthening, doubling, gauge conversion and other works of the railway line in Ajmer division, which covers 11 districts of Rajasthan.
According to the official statement, the Central Government has sanctioned Rs 1,411 crore 01 lakh for the new line and RUB projects in Ajmer division, which is 18.5% more than the previous year’s budget. The new line projects include:
Ajmer-Kota (Naseerabad-Jalindri) 145 km, Rs 50 crore 01 lakh. This project will provide an alternative route to Kota and reduce the congestion on the existing line.
Pushkar-Merta 59 km, Rs 50 crore 01 lakh. This project will connect the holy town of Pushkar with the main line and boost the tourism and pilgrimage potential of the region.
Ajmer (Naseerabad) – Sawai Madhopur via Tonk 165 km, Rs 100 crore 01 lakh. This project will provide a direct link between Ajmer and Sawai Madhopur and facilitate the movement of passengers and goods.
Bangar Gram-Ras 27.8 km, Rs 2 crore. This project will connect the cement plants in Ras with the main line and enhance the industrial development of the area.
Ratlam-Dungarpur via Banswara 176.47 km, Rs 150 crore. This project will connect the tribal areas of Banswara and Dungarpur with the main line and improve the socio-economic condition of the people.
Tiranga Hill-Abu Road via Ambaji 89.38 km, Rs 300 crore. This project will connect the hill station of Abu Road with the main line and provide a scenic route for the tourists and pilgrims.
Neemuch-Badi Sadri 48 km, budget of Rs 100 crore has been received. This project will connect the marble mines in Badi Sadri with the main line and increase the export potential of the region.
The RUB projects include:
Electrification of Bangargram – Ras section and Ras-cement siding – Rs 1 crore 50 lakh. This will reduce the diesel consumption and carbon emission of the trains.
Electrification of Nathdwara Town new line – Rs 4 crore 17 lakh 50 thousand. This will enable the electric trains to run on the new line and save the fuel cost.
Upgrade work on Bhinwalia-Palanpur section for loading target of three thousand metric tons – Rs 37 crore 25 lakh. This will increase the capacity and speed of the freight trains on this section.
Upgradation work of Chittaurgarh-Udaipur section – Rs 17 crore 74 lakh. This will improve the safety and punctuality of the trains on this section.
Udaipur City – Broad Line – A category accident assistance train – Rs 10 lakh. This will provide a quick response in case of any mishap on the broad line.
Construction of two-lane road over bridge in place of level crossing gate number 132 on Madar-Palanpur section – Rs 5 crore. This will eliminate the traffic congestion and risk of accidents at the level crossing.
Two road over bridges in place of 07 different level crossing gates on Madar-Palanpur section – Rs 6 crore. This will also ease the traffic flow and ensure the safety of the road users.
Four lane road over bridge in place of 03 different level crossing gates on Madar – Palanpur section – Rs 5 crore. This will further enhance the road connectivity and mobility of the people.
Road under bridge in place of 43 different level crossing gates on Rani-Keshavganj and Swaroopganj-Palanpur section – Rs 10 lakh. This will reduce the waiting time and inconvenience of the road users at the level crossings.
Road under bridges at 52 different level crossing gates on Udaipur- Himmatnagar section – Rs 5 crore. This will also facilitate the smooth movement of the road traffic and avoid the delays of the trains.
Road under bridges at 65 different level crossing gates on Ajmer division – Rs 10 crore. This will cover the remaining level crossings in the division and ensure the hassle-free travel of the road users.
Underground subway and road over bridge in place of 06 different level crossing gates on Ajmer division. This will provide a better option for the pedestrians and cyclists to cross the railway tracks safely and comfortably.
Ajmer- Chittorgarh Udaipur (300 km), extension from Udaipur to Umra (11 km) and basic modification work up to Mavli-Badi Sadri 82.08 km – Rs 50 crore. This will complete the gauge conversion of the entire meter gauge line in the division and enable the operation of broad gauge trains on this route.
The doubling projects include:
Marwar-Mawali 152 km, Rs 75 crore. This will increase the line capacity and operational flexibility on this busy section.
Abu Road- Sarotra Road 23.12 km patch doubling, Rs 01 crore. This will also augment the line capacity and reduce the detention of the trains on this section.
Swaroopganj-Abu Road 25.36 kilometer patch, Rs 01 crore. This will further improve the line utilization and train movement on this section.
Sarotra Road – Karjoda 23.59 Km Patch – Rs 01 crore. This will complete the doubling of the entire Abu Road-Palanpur section and enhance the efficiency of the railway network.
Rani- Keshavganj 59.5 km, Rs 10 lakh. This will start the doubling work on this section and provide an alternative route for the trains.
Ajmer – Bangargram 48.43 km, Rs 01 crore. This will also initiate the doubling work on this section and increase the line availability for the trains.
Gudiya – Marwar 43.5 km and Karjoda – Palanpur 5.4 km, Rs 05 lakh. This will continue the doubling work on these sections and optimize the line performance for the trains.
Bangargram-Gudiya 47 kilometer patch, Rs 01 crore. This will finish the doubling work on this section and enable the smooth operation of the trains.
The strengthening projects include:
Rani-Marwar Junction 54.50 km patch – Rs 2.97 lakh. This will strengthen the track and bridge structures on this section and ensure the safety and stability of the trains.
Ajmer-Chittorgarh 186 km – Rs 105 crore. This will also strengthen the track and bridge structures on this section and maintain the quality and reliability of the trains.
The railway officials have expressed their gratitude to the Central Government for the generous budget allocation and assured that they will complete the projects in a time-bound manner and provide the best services to the railway passengers and customers in Rajasthan.
