Jaipur: Dy CM Diya Kumari Directs Strict Measures to Tackle Monsoon Waterlogging in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari addressed growing concerns around waterlogging during the monsoon season, assuring citizens that the government is fully prepared to handle such situations with swift and efficient action.

Speaking to the media, she said, “The department is vigilant. We have set up control rooms at every level… We will take immediate action if any such situation arises.” The control rooms will coordinate closely with local bodies and emergency services to ensure timely responses to any incidents of flooding or drainage failure.

In a significant directive, Kumari revealed that she had issued a formal instruction mandating that drainage systems be constructed alongside every new road project in the state. “I released a letter just yesterday stating that it is mandatory to construct drains alongside any new road being constructed,” she said.

Criticizing the previous government, she remarked, “The last government did not make good-quality roads. We will pay more attention to the quality rather than the quantity of roads.”

The Deputy CM’s proactive approach indicates the state government’s intent to prioritize infrastructure durability and climate resilience, especially during the monsoon months when urban and rural flooding have previously disrupted daily life.
