In a landmark achievement for Rajasthan’s water supply initiatives, Mandal Block in Bhilwara has become the first block in the state to reach 100% household water coverage under the Jal Jeevan Mission. This milestone marks a significant success in Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s vision of providing every rural household with safe and potable water through tap connections.
District Collector Namit Mehta proudly announced this historic accomplishment, highlighting the successful implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the region. Under his leadership, Bhilwara has made remarkable strides in ensuring that every one of the 29,524 homes in Mandal Block now has access to clean drinking water via functional household tap connections.
The Jal Jeevan Mission, a flagship program of the central government, aims to improve water supply infrastructure in rural areas across India. The initiative focuses on providing sustainable and safe drinking water to every rural household through the installation of tap water connections. The achievement in Mandal Block not only underscores the efficacy of the program but also serves as a model for other districts in Rajasthan and across the country.
Collector Mehta commended the collaborative efforts of the district administration, local authorities, and the community in making this achievement possible. “This success is a testament to our collective commitment to improving the quality of life for our residents,” Mehta stated. “Our focus remains on ensuring that every family has access to clean and safe drinking water, which is fundamental to health and well-being.”
The completion of 100% water coverage in Mandal Block is a significant step forward in the broader goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission and reflects the state government’s dedication to addressing rural water supply challenges. As Bhilwara celebrates this milestone, the achievement sets a high standard for other regions to follow in the pursuit of equitable and reliable water access for all.
