PM Modi Advocates for Judicial Excellence at National Conference of District Judiciary

Date:

In a significant address at the National Conference of District Judiciary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the indispensable role of the judiciary in India’s quest for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). The Prime Minister stressed the need for modernization and efficiency within the district judiciary, emphasizing that a robust legal framework is essential for national development.

Modi pointed to the impact of technology on the judicial process, particularly the implementation of e-Courts, which he described as a game-changer. “E-Courts have revolutionized the way we administer justice, making it quicker and more accessible for citizens,” he stated, urging legal professionals to fully embrace these advancements to improve the overall efficiency of the judiciary.

Additionally, the Prime Minister discussed the significance of legal reforms, notably the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which seeks to streamline judicial procedures. He called for expedited resolutions in cases related to violence against women, stating, “Swift justice in these matters is vital. It not only protects the rights of women but also instills confidence in our legal system.”

The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid growing societal concerns regarding safety and justice for women in India. Modi emphasized that timely decisions in sensitive cases are crucial for ensuring safety and security for all citizens, particularly women, who represent half the nation’s population.

The conference gathered legal professionals, judges, and policymakers to foster dialogue on enhancing the efficacy of the district judiciary. Participants engaged in discussions on the best practices for integrating technology and implementing reforms aimed at reducing delays in the legal process.

In his closing remarks, PM Modi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the judiciary in its mission to deliver justice effectively. “A strong judicial system is the backbone of a developed nation. Together, we can build a legal framework that not only serves justice but also promotes societal harmony,” he concluded.

The conference served as a vital platform for stakeholders in the legal system to collaborate and strategize on the path forward, reinforcing the judiciary’s role as a pillar of democracy and development in India.
