Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the return of his popular monthly radio broadcast, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, which will air again on June 30. The broadcast was temporarily halted in light of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with its last episode aired on February 25.
Taking to social media, PM Modi expressed his enthusiasm for the programme’s return and invited citizens to share their thoughts and ideas. “Delighted to share that after a gap of some months due to the elections, #MannKiBaat is back! This month’s programme will take place on Sunday, 30th June. I call upon all of you to share your ideas and inputs for the same. Write on the MyGov Open Forum, NaMo App, or record your message on 1800 11 7800,” he posted.
The programme was paused in accordance with the Election Commission’s guidelines to ensure a fair electoral process. During the 110th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi had announced, “Mann Ki Baat will not be broadcast for the next three months in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.”
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections, held from April 19 to June 1 in seven phases, culminated with the declaration of results on June 4, leading to the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha.
Since its launch on October 3, 2014, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has become a vital platform for the Prime Minister to communicate directly with the citizens of India. The programme addresses a wide range of national issues and themes, aiming to engage with various segments of society, including women, the elderly, and the youth.
The resumption of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ offers a renewed opportunity for citizens to engage with the Prime Minister and share their perspectives on national issues. PM Modi’s call for public input through the MyGov Open Forum, NaMo App, and a dedicated toll-free number underscores his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and active citizen participation.
The anticipation for the return of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is significant, as the programme has consistently served as a platform for PM Modi to discuss important policy issues, celebrate the achievements of ordinary Indians, and address the challenges facing the nation.
As the June 30 broadcast approaches, citizens are encouraged to contribute their ideas and suggestions, ensuring that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ continues to reflect the diverse voices and aspirations of the Indian people. This initiative highlights PM Modi’s dedication to maintaining an open and interactive dialogue with the populace, reinforcing the democratic ethos of India and promoting participatory governance.
