Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a scathing critique of the opposition today, accusing them of exhibiting double standards in their approach to governance and law enforcement. In a pointed address, PM Modi highlighted instances where he alleged that opposition leaders had contradicted themselves on issues relating to corruption and law enforcement across different states.
“They are people who have double standards. I would like to remind the country again and again of the double standards,” PM Modi asserted, drawing attention to the conflicting stances taken by opposition parties in various contexts.
PM Modi cited examples to illustrate his point, starting with events in Delhi where opposition leaders purportedly criticized investigative agencies while simultaneously rallying to defend individuals accused of corruption. He further pointed out incidents in Kerala where he claimed opposition leaders called for legal action against the Chief Minister, despite being allies in the state government.
“In Delhi, they raise an alarm over ED-CBI and the same people tell the same agencies to send the Kerala CM to jail,” PM Modi stated, alleging inconsistency in the opposition’s stance on law enforcement agencies.
PM Modi also referred to Chhattisgarh, where he alleged that the Congress Chief Minister was linked to a liquor scam. “AAP used to say that the ED should put this CM behind bars. ED was dear to them at that time,” PM Modi added, criticizing the opposition’s previous support for action by enforcement agencies in similar cases.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come amidst heightened political tensions and debates over governance and accountability in the country. His critique of the opposition’s purported double standards underscores ongoing political discourse ahead of upcoming elections.
The opposition has not yet responded to PM Modi’s accusations. However, his comments are likely to spark further debate and scrutiny over the consistency and integrity of political positions across different states and issues.
PM Modi’s address marks a significant moment in the political landscape, highlighting contrasting approaches to governance and law enforcement between the ruling party and opposition factions. As political dynamics continue to evolve, PM Modi’s statements are expected to influence public discourse and perceptions in the run-up to future elections.
