Durgapur— Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a public gathering in West Bengal’s Durgapur, reaffirmed the BJP’s historic and cultural connection with the state, invoking the legacy of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee.
“The BJP’s roots are deeply planted in Bengal through the vision of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee,” Modi stated. He lauded the richness of Bengali language and culture, calling them central to the BJP’s identity and ideological foundation.
However, the Prime Minister launched a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing it of compromising Bengal’s cultural and national identity. “TMC is encouraging illegal immigration, which threatens the state’s security and rich cultural fabric,” he warned.
Modi assured the people of West Bengal that justice would be delivered under the Constitution and reiterated the BJP’s commitment to preserving the integrity and heritage of the state.
The address is seen as part of BJP’s renewed outreach to Bengal voters ahead of key political battles in the state.
