Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his recent public address in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, praised the state’s innovative ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) scheme. The scheme, initiated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has significantly simplified the process of selecting gifts for international visits, according to the Prime Minister.
“Due to the One District One Product scheme of Yogi Ji, now I don’t have to use much of my brain while I am going abroad in choosing gifts,” said PM Modi. “I check the state website and take 5-6 things for gifts.”
The ODOP scheme is a unique initiative that aims to promote traditional industries synonymous with their respective districts to spur local economy and create jobs. Each district in Uttar Pradesh is known for some specific product which is produced in large quantities and holds potential for further growth.
PM Modi’s remarks underscore the success of the ODOP scheme in not only boosting the local economy but also in promoting the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh on a global platform. His choice of gifts from these local industries for international dignitaries reflects his support for the scheme and its impact.
The Prime Minister’s endorsement of the ODOP scheme is expected to further encourage the artisans and small industries in Uttar Pradesh, contributing to the state’s economic growth and development.
