Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set his election campaign in motion in Telangana, starting with a visit to the sacred Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Vemulawada, Karimnagar district. The Prime Minister arrived in the southern state on Tuesday night and stayed at the Rajbhavan.
Following his temple visit, PM Modi is scheduled to hold rallies in the Karimnagar and Warangal districts of Telangana. After concluding his campaign in Telangana, the Prime Minister will transition to the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, where he will hold a rally in Rajampet and a roadshow in Vijayawada.
In a significant development, the family of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao met with PM Modi in Hyderabad on Tuesday. They expressed their gratitude for the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, conferred posthumously on the former Prime Minister. The family also had a comprehensive discussion with PM Modi on a variety of topics, including culture and India’s developmental strides.
NV Subhash, BJP leader and grandson of former PM PV Narasimha Rao, shared his family’s joy at the meeting. “We were very happy when PM Modi called all the members of the family of former PM PV Narasimha Rao, after conferring the Bharat Ratna to PV Narasimha Rao. Yesterday, all our family members met PM Modi. It was a great occasion and a wide range of discussions took place. The type of discussions we had, I felt PM Modi was like my grandfather and we never felt that there was a difference between Narasimha Rao and PM Modi. We discussed not only political issues but also discussed science, technology, health and education for about 30-45 mins,” said Subhash.
