Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Unveils Ambitious Water Provision Plans

In a comprehensive address aimed at highlighting his government’s achievements and future plans, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized the critical importance of water resources in the state’s development. Sharma detailed significant milestones and upcoming projects, underscoring the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) commitment to delivering on promises made to the people of Rajasthan.

“We have worked to provide water in every area of Rajasthan,” stated Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, emphasizing the extensive efforts undertaken by his administration to ensure water accessibility across the state. He criticized the opposition Congress party for stalling the implementation of the ERCP (Energy Reform and Conservation Programme) scheme, a key initiative aimed at enhancing water infrastructure.

Highlighting the scale and impact of ongoing projects, Sharma credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for driving the ambitious schemes forward. “Under the leadership of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are working on that big scheme,” he affirmed, referring to a monumental initiative encompassing 13 old districts and 21 new districts in Rajasthan. This scheme is set to provide drinking water and irrigation facilities spanning 2 lakh 80 thousand hectares, significantly benefiting farmers and communities reliant on agriculture.

Addressing longstanding water resource challenges, Sharma highlighted the successful conclusion of the Yamuna water agreement, which had been pending for nearly half a century. “For almost 50 years we used to talk about the Yamuna water agreement, the Congress government always made false promises but the work of that Yamuna agreement was also completed,” Sharma asserted, underscoring his administration’s commitment to delivering on historic agreements.

In the context of the state budget, Sharma reaffirmed his government’s commitment to water provision, outlining provisions across various schemes including ERCP and the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). “The greatest need in Rajasthan is water and even now in this budget, we have made provisions from ERCP to Yamuna water and also in JJM so that the people of Rajasthan get completely clean water,” he stated, highlighting comprehensive efforts to ensure water quality and availability meet the highest standards.

As Rajasthan continues to navigate complex developmental challenges, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s proactive stance and commitment to enhancing water infrastructure are poised to make a transformative impact. With these initiatives, the state government aims to bolster agricultural productivity, improve living standards, and pave the way for sustainable growth across Rajasthan’s diverse communities.
