As the sun starts to shine brighter, signaling the onset of summer, the demand for water in Rajasthan is expected to surge. The Water Supply Department, however, is already on its toes to ensure that the season passes without any major hiccups.
Public Hearings to Address Water Issues
In an attempt to quickly address any drinking water-related problems, the Water Supply Department has decided to hold a public hearing every day from 10 to 11 am. These hearings will take place in the circle office, all division offices, sub-division offices, and section offices of the district.
The department has invited all residents of the district to attend these hearings. They can lodge a complaint about any drinking water-related issue during office hours from 10 to 11 am every day. Superintending Engineer Hrishikesh Meena assured that there will be no problem of drinking water during the summer season.
Campaign Against Illegal Tap Connections
In addition to the public hearings, the Water Supply Department is also running a special campaign to remove illegal tap connections. Prabhati Lal Meena, Executive Engineer, Tonk Block, informed that tap connections are being provided to every household by RUIDP in the city.
He urged those with illegal tap connections to get them regularized by 28th February. The department has warned of strict action against consumers found with illegal tap connections during the campaign.
With these measures in place, the Water Supply Department aims to ensure a smooth and protest-free summer season in terms of water supply.
