The 17th Lok Sabha concluded its last day on Saturday with a discussion on the historic Ram temple construction and the consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. These issues were also discussed in the Rajya Sabha. The BJP issued a three-line whip on Friday, instructing its MPs to be present in both houses on Saturday. Sources said that the Parliament will pass a resolution to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the inauguration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla on January 22. Sources said, “Apart from the resolution, there will also be a discussion on the pledge of this government to build a developed India in the Amrit period and to establish good governance like Ram Rajya.” Sources said, “The discussion could be on what kind of country we want to build and what kind of leadership we should have.” They said that Prime Minister Modi may speak in the Lok Sabha just before the end of the session.
According to the agenda of the Lok Sabha on Saturday, former Union Minister Satyapal Singh, BJP MP from Baghpat and Shiv Sena MP from Kalyan Shrikant Eknath Shinde will raise a discussion under Rule 193. Earlier this week, while demanding to change the name of the country to Bharat, Satyapal Singh had said in the Lok Sabha that Modi is working towards establishing “Ram Rajya”. He had said, “We will not sit in peace until Ram Rajya is established. During the freedom struggle, Mahatma Gandhi had talked about establishing Ram Rajya. Prime Minister Modi is following the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, Maharshi Dayanand and Deen Dayal Upadhyay and is working to establish Ram Rajya in the country.”
